Men's Basketball Falls to Morrisville State

ABINGTON, PA – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team hosted the NEAC powerhouse  Morrisville State, but couldn't pull off the upset in a 85-65 loss on Sunday afternoon. After the loss the Nittany Lions fall to 7-7 for the season and 4-1 in the conference.

Freshman Charles Ervin (Quakertown, PA) hit a career high 17 points and Jordan Lomax (West Haven, CT) earned a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Mustangs got off to a hot start with an 11-2 run in the first couple minutes of the game.  Morrisville State shot 47 percent from the floor, but Ervin kept the Nittany Lions within striking distance answering their shots with 12 first half points.  Abington tried to chip away at the lead, but the visitors held a 39-29 lead at the half.

In the second half the Nittany Lions struggled shooting from the floor hitting only 26 percent while the Mustangs pushed their lead to 20 by hitting 50 percent from the floor. Abington fought but couldn't mount a comeback.

Abington will look to rebound when they travel to Gallaudet University on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.
