ABINGTON, PA- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team bounced back on Friday evening, after 2 back to back NEAC losses earlier in the week. Tonight the Nittany Lions defeated Lancaster Bible 73-67 and improved to 5-2 in conference.

With less than 30 seconds left in the first quarter, freshman Lacy MacLachlin (Boyertown, PA) drained a perfect 3 assisted by Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA). This crucial shot lessened the Chargers lead, with the Nittany Lions trailing by only 3 points heading into the second quarter. In the second quarter, good defense played by Abington allowed the Nittany Lions to take the 38-37 lead heading into halftime. Senior Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA) heated up for the Nittany Lions in the second half by scoring 18 points and 4-5 from the 3-point arc.

As a team, Abington successfully made 50% of their field goals in the first half. There were three Nittany Lions who scored in double digits tonight including senior Shayna Rodriguez with 29, and juniors Sydney Barrow (Philadelphia, PA) 18, and Laquana Nagbe 12.

Next up, Abington will travel to NEAC opponent Penn College on Wednesday Jan. 23 for a 6:00pm game.
