CAMDEN, NJ- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team traveled to Rutgers-Camden on Monday evening to play their final non-conference game of the season. The Nittany Lions were defeated by the Scarlet Raptors 76-68, and dropped to 5-5 on the season.

Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA) led the Nittany Lion offense and scored her season high of 27 points, while collecting 5 rebounds. Behind her was freshman
Wynter Bess (Philadelphia, PA), who scored double digits with 14 buckets. Junior
Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA)Â earned 11 rebounds and 13 points for Abington.Â
The Nittany Lions started the first quarter hot by draining 70% of their 3-pointers, and taking the lead after the 1st 20-15. In the second quarter, Abington scored a perfect 100% from behind the 3-point arch to help keep the lead heading into half time 39-35. It wasn't until the second half when the Nittany Lions turned the ball over a total of 10 times between the 3rd and 4th quarter, changing the course of the game completely, and giving the Scarlet Raptors the win.
Abington will host NEAC opponent Penn State Berks on Wednesday January 9th at 6:00pm.Â
