MORRISVILLE, NY. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team pushed its win streak to five with a decisive 4-0 shutout of Morrisville State on Sunday afternoon.  After the win the Nittany Lions improve to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Nittany Lions had four different goal scorers on the day outshooting the Mustangs 13-9 and forcing nine saves from the goalkeeper.
Junior
Jose Palomeque was involved in all four goals with three assists and the final goal of the game in a standout performance.
In the first minutes of action the Nittany Lions and Mustangs battled but senior midfielder
Ed Worthington broke the deadlock with his second goal of the season in the 25
th minute. Moments later
Michael Albers opened up the game with his goal that came off the corner kick. The Nittany Lions continued to press the Mustangs with
Justin Hansen recording his first goal for the Nittany Lions in the 41
st minute of the half.
In the second half the Nittany Lions back line held firm with sophomore goalkeeper
Esteban Leon only being tested once. Abington earned a penalty kick in the 80
th minute that was converted by Palomeque for his fourth goal of the season.
Abington will return home and face off against Wells College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
