ABINGTON, PA. – Down early in the first half, the Penn State Abington men's soccer team clawed their way out of a hole to win 3-1 over Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions improve to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Bison were off to a quick start with a goal in the first few minutes netting a goal off a free kick to stun the home side. Abington pressed the Bison with multiple chances until
Hernando Villamil slotted home to tie the game with his 37
th career goal.
Abington stayed tied with Gallaudet into the second half with the pressure mounting on the home side. In the 87
th minute
Jose Palomeque finally broke the tie placing his shot low to the left post for his third goal of the year. Right before the final whistle Palomeque put an exclamation point on the game scoring another goal to put away the Bison.
Abington will hit the road next week when they travel to Cazenovia on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
