ABINGTON, PA- The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team added two wins to their season today by defeating NEAC opponent Lancaster Bible and Delaware Valley University. The Nittany Lions improve to 9-14 on the season, and 2-2 in conference.
Abington picked up a huge conference win in game one by defeating LBC for the first time in school history. The Nittany Lions crushed the Chargers in three sets 25-19, 25-19, and 25-22. Freshman Katharine Costello (New Hope, PA) recorded 16 kills, 8 digs, and 4 blocks for Abington. Sophomore JJenny McAnaney (Maple Glen, PA) racked up 21 digs and 9 kills for the Nittany Lions.
In game two, Abington kept their team momentum going as they took an easy three sets from Del Val 25-21, 25-15, and 25-9. McAnaney again led Abington with 16 kills and 12 digs. Senior Cortney Schwar (Annandale, NJ) finished the two game series with 62 assists.
Up next, the Nittany Lions will hit the road on October 12 to face Keuka College for a 12:00pm match.
