Nittany Lions Cruise Past Cobleskill, 4-0

ABINGTON, PA. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team secured a spot in the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs after a 4-0 win over SUNY Cobleskill on Friday afternoon. After the win the Nittany Lions improve to 9-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference.

Senior Hernando Villamil continues to add to his outstanding season with two goals to bring his conference leading total to 17 for the year.

Villamil opened the scoring in the 4th minute of action when David Panea sent in a low cross from the wing for the senior forward to finish. Later in the first half the Nittany Lions earned a free kick right outside the box, Sebastian Krysztofowicz stepped over the ball and placed a perfect free kick in the upper ninety to give the Nittany Lions the 2-0 lead.  After halftime the Nittany Lions continued their dominance when Panea curled his shot to the top right corner for his third goal of the season. Villamil put the game out of reach for Cobleskill when he chipped the goalkeeper for his 17th goal of the season in the 61st minute.

Abington will host SUNY Poly tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. for senior day. If the Nittany Lions win tomorrow they will likely be a host for the first round of the NEAC tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
