MADISON, NJ. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team opened its season on the road against a tough non-conference matchup against Drew, but couldn't pull off the win in a 93-56 loss on Tuesday evening.
Junior
Pernell Ghee led the Nittany Lions with 11 point and five boards, while newcomer
Amir Hill also hit double digits with 10 points and four rebounds.
Abington had a solid shooting performance in the first half hitting 44 percent from the field but the Rangers went blow-for-blow hitting 51 percent of their shots. In the second half the Nittany Lions went cold only hitting 14 percent of their shots from behind the arc.
Although Abington out-rebounded Drew, the Nittany Lions Achilles heel were the 30 combined turnovers for the team that the Rangers capitalized off with 44 points.
Abington will continue their road trip when they travel to Cairn University this Friday night at 8:00 p.m.
