ALLENTOWN, PA. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team faced off against Catholic University in the first round of the Scott Wood Basketball Tournament, but fell to the Cardinals 80-48 at Muhlenberg College Friday afternoon. After the loss the Nittany Lions fall to 1-2 for the season.

Laquana Nagbe netted 11 points and chipped in four rebounds.
Abington struggled shooting in the first half, being outscored 25-8. The Nittany Lions dug themselves into a hole by shooting 29 percent for the field, and were shut out from behind the arc going 0-for-6. Nagbe scored six points in the second quarter as the Nittany Lions tried to cut the deficit, but were barely outscored 20-18.
In the second half the Cardinals continued to put up points outscoring Abington 24-12 in the third quarter which put the game out of reach for the Nittany Lions.
Next Abington will feature in the consolation game against either Neumann University or the hosting institution Muhlenberg College.
