Penn State Abington University Athletics

SWARTHMORE, PA- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team traveled to Swarthmore College on Thursday evening, but couldn't come away with a win, in their 65-32 loss to the Garnet. Abington falls to 3-4 on the season.

Senior veteran Sydney Barrow (Philadelphia, PA) led the team with 14 points and seven rebounds. Behind her was teammate Lacy MacLachlin (Boyertown, PA) who contributed eight points for the Nittany Lions. 

Abington got off to a slow start in the first quarter, by scoring a season low of seven points. Swarthmore went on to outscore Abingotn 16-8 in the following quarter. Heading into halftime, Abington trailed 34-15. 

The third quarter was when Abington did their best scoring of the night. Barrow & MacLachlin each drained five points, while Nyjah Moody (Philadelphia, PA) added a free throw to Abington's 11 point quarter. However, Abington couldn't keep up with the Garnet's offense, getting shut out 16-6 in the final quarter.

Up next, Abington will host Eastern University this Saturday at 1:00pm  for their final game in the year 2019.
