WILKES-BARRE, PA – The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team traveled to Kings College, but fell to the Monarchs 18-5 on Wednesday night. The Nittany Lions fall to 0-2 for the season.
Freshman
Lillian Diesh (San Carlos, CA) led the Nittany Lions with two goals while
Melissa Felicetti (Willow Grove, PA),
Kiera O'Keeffe (Yardley, PA) and
Jillian Stokes (Mayfair, PA) added goals.
The Monarchs opened the game with 11 consecutive goals in the first 15 minutes of action before Felicetti got the Nittany Lions on the board with 12:30 left in the half. Kings went on to score another two goals before Diesh netted her first of the game.
In the second half the Nittany Lions cut the lead with three consecutive goals but it wasn't enough to overcome the Monarchs.
Abington will be back in action tomorrow when they face off against Rutgers-Camden at 4:00 p.m.
