ASTON, PA .-Â The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team traveled to Neumann University but were shut down by the Knights in a 20-6 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 1-4 for the season after the loss.
Sophomore
Kiera O'Keeffe (Yardley, PA) led the Nittany Lions with two goals to put her season total to nine.
In the first few minutes of the game the Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead but O'Keeffe netter her goal to break the run. Only moments later her sister
Lauren O'Keeffe (Yardley, PA) found the back of the net to make it 4-2 after five minutes of action.
Again the Knights pushed their lead to 7-2 before Lauren could find the back of the net again. A six goal streak for the Knights made it 13-3 with only 13 minutes left in the half.Â
Goals from
Sajida Halimi (Philadelphia, PA), and
Alynn Phelan (Philadelphia, PA) made it 17-5, but the Nittany Lions couldn't find a second half rally to overcome the deficit.
Abington will be back in action when they travel to Delaware Valley University on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
