DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Junior attacker
Alynn Phelan (Philadelphia, PA) netted three goals but it wasn't enough to overcome Delaware Valley in a 17-5 loss to the Aggies on Tuesday night. The Nittany Lions fall to 1-5 after the loss.
In the first half the Aggies went up 5-0 in the first fifteen minutes of play, taking advantage of the Nittany Lions being down a player. Â Within 12 seconds Phelan pulled the Nittany Lions back into the game with consecutive goals only seconds apart. Â Unfortunately Abington couldn't build off of the momentum and allowed the Aggies to score another seven goals in the period.
Delaware Valley were first on the board in the second half with a 6-0. Two late goals cut the lead for the Nittany Lions but it wasn't enough to overcome.
The Nittany Lions will return to action when they travel to NEAC powerhouse Morrisville State on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
