Nittany Lions Take Two from Wells

Aurora, NY – The Penn State Abington baseball team picked up two important conference wins over Wells College to start off their three game series on Saturday afternoon.  Abington took game one 13-1 and earned a 15-7 win in game two to improve to 14-12 for the season and 7-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Ryan McCarty (Yardley, PA) had a huge day at the plate and on the mound for the Nittany Lions. In game one the All-American went 3-of-5 with three RBIs at the plate and struck out eight batters, with three hits against for his fourth win of the season.

In game two Darrien Mogel (Reading, PA) picked up his NEAC leading fifth win of the season giving him a perfect 5-0 record for the season.  The Nittany Lions jumped out early capitalizing on five errors by the express and scoring their 15 runs off 13 hits including Tyler DiPatri's (Pedricktown, NJ) third home run of the season.

Abington will look to complete the sweep tomorrow when they end the series at 12:00 p.m.
