Aurora, NY – Down 2-1 in the final game of the series, the Penn State Abington baseball team rallied pasts Wells College 4-2 on Sunday morning.  After the series sweep the Nittany Lions improve to 15-12 for the season and 8-1 in the conference.
Sophomore
Jaden Himmelreich (Temple, PA) had a solid outing on the mound with only four hits given up and five strikeouts.
Zach Brightbill (Birdsboro, PA) closed out the game for the Nittany Lions pitching the final two innings and picking up the save.
In the first inning Himmelreich kicked off the scoring when he ripped his pitch to right field driving in the first run of the game. The Express took advantage of an error to tie the game in the third inning, and later took the lead 2-1. With two runners on in the seventh inning
Ryan McCarty (Yardley, PA) earned an RBI single to center to tie the game. Abington took the lead after a throwing error by the pitcher and
Darren Aupperle (Barrington, NJ) added to the total with his sacrifice fly.
The Nittany Lions will look to continue their streak when they travel to Salisbury University on Tuesday at 3: 30 p.m.
