BRYN ATHYN, PA. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team honored the passing of freshman
Jaden Truskey by winning the first annual
Jaden Truskey Cup in a 7-1 win over Bryn Athyn on Saturday afternoon. After today's win the Nittany Lions improve to 1-1 for the season.
Senior striker
Hernando Villamil netted himself four goals in the opener with goals in the 8
th, 24
th, and two in the 64
th minute of the game. After his sensational display today Villamil moves into second all-time in goals with 32, only three behind Elsion Pajollari.
It didn't take long for freshman
Michael Thomas to open his collegiate account with a goal in the fifth minute of action. Villamil doubled the lead in the 8
th minute and pushed the Nittany Lions to a 3-0 advantage after his second goal of the game. Before the half Bryn Athyn got on to the board to make it 3-1.
Coming out of the break it took
Sebastian Krysztofowicz only a few minutes to net his first goal of the season. Villamil put on a display in the 64
th minute by scoring two goals only 22 seconds apart. Â Later in the half freshman
Ryan Hannigan also earned his first collegiate goal in the 71
st minute to put away the Lions.
The Nittany Lions will continue their road trip when they travel to Rowan University on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
