LANCASTER, Pa. – On the road at Lancaster Bible the Penn State Abington women's basketball team faced off against the Chargers but fell in a heart breaker 60-56 on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 7-8 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

Sydney Barrow led the Nittany Lions with 20 points and junior
Ashya Gaddy earned a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards.
The Nittany Lions got off to a tough start in the first quarter with the Chargers starting with an 8-0 run.
Laquana Nagbe broke the streak when she drained her shot from three. After five minutes of action the Nittany Lions found themselves down 12-3 but Abington clawed their way back and finished the period on a 12-5 run.
Again the Chargers quickly pushed their lead to double-digits, but Barrow caught fire to shift momentum. Down 26-16 with at seven minutes in the second period, Barrow took over hitting four jump shots and brought the Nittany Lions back within two points at the half.
In the third quarter Abington took its first lead of the game when Gaddy hit her layup to help the Nittany Lions take a 33-32 lead. But the Chargers were hot shooting from the field going 8-of-15 and again took the lead by the end of the period.
Gaddy tied the game again in the fourth period, but the Chargers responded with a shot from three. Abington stayed within striking distance but couldn't get over the hump in their first loss in the division.
Abington will look to rebound when they travel to Penn State Berks on Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.
