ABINGTON, PA- Senior center Alyssa O'Mara (Huntingdon Valley, PA)celebrated her Senior Day by earning a career high of 12 points in Penn State Abington's 89-42 victory over Wells College this afternoon. O'Mara brought the crowd to her feet in the fourth quarter when she drained her first three pointer of her career.
Abington's four-women senior class powered the Nittany Lions offense this evening. Senior Sydney Barrow (Philadelphia, PA)earned a double-double after racking up 21 points with 12 assists. Senior Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA) drained 12 points and collected six rebounds. Senior Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) drained 7 points and grabbed four rebounds for Abington.
The Nittany Lions offense came out of the gate hot with a 24-6 lead over the Express in the first quarter. Abington kept their foot on the gas pedal by extending their lead to 44-16 at halftime. As a team, Abington did their best shooting in the fourth quarter by scoring 75% of their field goals (9-12). Four Nittany Lions knocked down deep balls from behind the arc including Ashya Gaddy (Philadelphia, PA), Angie Tabares, Nyjah Moody (Philadelphia, PA), and Alyssa O'Mara to contribute to Abington's 26 point quarter.
Sophomore Lacy MacLachlin (Boyertown, PA) finished the evening with 13 points for Abington, while juniors Ashya Gaddy and Iman Richmond (Chicago, IL)each contributed eight.
Up next the Nittany Lions will host Lancaster Bible this Tuesday at 8:00pm, for their final home game of the season.
