Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Drops to Harrisburg, 77-71

MIDDLETOWN, PA- Earlier this season the Penn State Abington women's basketball celebrated a big win at home over Penn State Harrisburg 74-68. In today's rematch, Harrisburg retaliated with a 77-71 victory over the Nittany Lions. Abington drops to 7-12 overall and 5-6 in conference.

For her second consecutive game, senior veteran Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA) earned her third double-double of the season dropping 19 points and collecting 11 rebounds. Junior Ashya Gaddy (Philadelphia, PA) led the way for Abington today with a season best 25-point performance.

The Nittany Lions got off to a sluggish first quarter, only draining 18% of their field goals. This allowed Penn State Harrisburg to almost double the Nittany Lions points with an early 23-12 lead. Harrisburg took their biggest lead of the day in the second quarter with a 17-point advantage over the Nittany Lions. Abington responded by cutting their lead and trailed 37-27 heading into halftime.

The Nittany Lions saved their best shooting of the day by scoring an impressive 27 points in the fourth quarter. Laquana Nagbe was responsible for 12 of those fighting points. But it wasn't enough before Penn State Harrisburg gained their eighth conference win of the season with a 77-71 defeat.

Up next Abington will host Penn State Berks this Wednesday for a 8:00pm tip off.
