A look back at 2015-2016 Season

ABINGTON, PA. – ABINGTON, Pa. – Throughout the year the Penn State Abington Athletic Department will take a look back at some of the interesting facts, and big events that happened each year starting from 2012.

Alex Kane earns NEAC SAAC Committee member of the year award. Article
 
Nittany Lions hire Shayla Johnson to take over women's basketball program. Article
 
Former Baseball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director Joe Pavlow was named coach of the year. Article
 
Accomplishments: 
Junior Honora Hegarty was named the Women's Tennis Player of the Year after she upset the number one seed from Berks in the topflight of the tournament. Hegarty helped the Nittany Lions finish 13-4 for the 2015-16 season and earn the NEAC West championship.
 
Freshman Shayna Rodriguez became the first women's basketball player to earn the NEAC Rookie of the Year Award after her third team selection. During the year Rodriguez scored 401 points with an average of 17.4 points per game. Rodriguez led the Nittany Lions in shooting percentage this season with .436 percent from the floor.  Earlier in the season the freshman guard broke the single game points record with 40 against Wells College.
 
Senior Mohamed Ammouni earned first team honors after a 6-2, 6-0 win at the topflight over Berks' Drew Wienhold and earned NAC West Player of the year for his second straight year for his performance. Ammouni led the Nittany Lions to another NAC West Championship after his outstanding year.
