Pavlow Named Coach of the Year, Four Awarded All Conference

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – After the Nittany Lions tremendous season, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2016 the All Conference Selections for Baseball with five awards, including the NEAC Coach of the Year Award for head coach Joe Pavlow.

Pavlow earned the Coach of the Year honor after the Nittany Lions tied a program best 12 wins and recorded his 150th win earlier in the season.

Sophomore Matt Meyers (Cheltenham, Pa.) was named to the NEAC First Team after a historic season for the outfielder.  Meyers broke the record for single season doubles with 19 and tied for sixth in Division III in the category.  At the plate Meyers led the Nittany Lions in batting average, hits, and RBIs for the year.

Sophomore Pitcher Matt McDonough (Abington, Pa.) earned First Team honors after his outstanding season on the mound.  In the North Eastern Athletic Conference McDonough finished second in wins with six, and second in strikeouts with 63 over the season.  McDonough finished the regular season with a 2.90 ERA in his 71 innings of work.

Junior Max German (Newtown, Pa.) rounded out the First Team All-Conference Selections after his terrific season for the Nittany Lions. The infielder finished second on the team in batting average and runs. Running the bases German finished first on the team with 12 stolen bases for the year.  This is his second consecutive First Team selection.

Sophomore Greg Mugnier (Abington, Pa.) was awarded NEAC Second Team honors for his work coming out of the bullpen for the Nittany Lions. The closer from Abington, scored the best ERA in the NEAC with a 1.91 earned run average. In his 33 innings on the mound, Mugnier earned three wins and three saves.
