Men's Soccer Clinches United East Tournament Appearance on Senior Day

ABINGTON, PA. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team clinched a seat in the United East Tournament after a 3-0 win over Morrisville State on Saturday afternoon.  The Nittany Lions finish 8-6-3 overall and 4-2-2 in the United East.

Senior Alec Howser was honored for the Nittany Lions leading them to his second United East Tournament appearance in his three years with the program.

In the first half Elijo Agolli kicked off the scoring in the 19th minute when Arsene Bado weaved through the box and crossed it into the middle where the freshman fired it into the net. Less than a minute later Agolli broke into the box and found Michael Thomas where the sophomore gave the Nittany Lions the 2-0 lead still in the 19th minute of the game. Later in the half Ricky Eisele was aggressive pressing the Mustangs high and was rewarded by taking the ball off the defender in the box and putting in the net to the far post to give Abington the 3-0 lead. Abington continued to press for more goals and outshot Morrisville State 29-6 but couldn't add more to their total.

Despite featuring 30 freshman the inexperience didn't hold the Nittany Lions back from earning the fourth seed in the United East Tournament. Abington will hit the road and face off against tournament host Penn State Harrisburg on Friday evening at 5:00 p.m.
