LANCASTER, PA. –  In an important conference match up against regionally ranked Lancaster Bible College the Penn State Abington men's soccer team held their own and drew with the Chargers 2-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions move to 4-5-2 for the season and 1-1-2 in the conference.
Freshman
Matt Haub opened his collegiate account with a goal in the second half to put the Nittany Lions ahead.
In the first half the Chargers struck first in the 28
th minute to give the hots the 1-0 advantage. Right before the break
Michael Thomas netted his fifth goal of the season in the 43
rd minute to tie the game 1-1.
Abington came out of halftime and quickly added to their total in the 52
nd minute when
Alec Howser assisted Haub for his first goal of the season. The Chargers tied the game in the 78
th minute and looked to have the upper hand when the Nittany Lions went down a man due to a red card. Down to 10 men the Nittany Lions held out through double overtime to secure the draw.
Abington will be back in action for revenge when they host Moravian University on Wedesday evening at 4:00 p.m.
