YORK, PA. – In the York Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament the Penn State Abington women's basketball team faced off against the hosts, but couldn't pull off the upset in a 84-35 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 1-1 for the season.
Sophomore
Angela Sanders led the Nittany Lions with 13 points and earned nine rebounds.
Abington struggled in the first quarter getting out scored 24-6 by the Spartans. The Nittany Lions had a strong second period earning 19 points while holding York College to 15. In the second half the hosts put the game out of reach by a 45-10 margin.
The Nittany Lions return to action tomorrow in the consolation bracket facing either Montclair State or Washington (Md.) at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow.
