YORK, PA. – In the consolation of round of the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament the Penn State Abington women's basketball team faced off against Montclair St. but were shut down 90-30 on Sunday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 1-2 after the loss.
Senior guard
Wynter Bess led the Nittany Lions with 10 points and added three assists and three rebounds.
Abington struggled shooting from the floor only hitting 23 percent of their shots and were only 2-of-10 from the stripe.
In the first two periods the Red Hawks outscored the Nittany Lions by a 42-13 margin. The Nittany Lions struggled to claw themselves back into the game being shut down in the third period 24-5. Abington hit a high of 12 points in the fourth period but it wasn't enough to bring down the Red Hawks.
Abington will look to rebound when they return home to host Arcadia University on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
