RADNOR, PA, -Â The Penn State Abington bats heated up in a 15-8 romp over Cabrini that was called due to darkness on Tuesday afternoon. Â Abington improves to 2-1 after the win.

The Nittany Lions were led by junior
Zach Morales going 3-of-5 with two runs scored, and
Ryan McCarty earned a double and a homerun that drove in two runs for the junior.

Senior
Stevie Stevenson started off the game getting on base and rattling the pitcher by stealing second base and taking advantage of two wild pitches to score the game's first run.

Cabrini answered in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game after a sacrifice fly.

McCarty bounced back after a slow start to the season, when he slammed his pitch over the left field wall to drive in two more runs for the Nittany Lions.  Abington took advantage of the shaking pitching and fielding for the Cavaliers, scoring on an error by the outfielder to make if 4-1. Still in the third inning with the bases loaded,
Bill Trimble drew a walk to notch another run for the Nittany Lions. Stevenson finished off the scoring for Abington, driving in the final run of the inning putting the Nittany Lions up 6-1 after three innings. The Nittany Lions didn't let up in the fourth inning with RBI singles from
Justin Fogel and
Brendon Reese. Senior
Paul Woodley added the final run of the 4
th to give the Nittany Lions a 9-1 lead. Senior
Jaden Himmelreich capped off the nine consecutive runs for the Nittany Lions with his single to left center field.

Cabrini cut into the lead in the 5
th inning with a three run homer, but Abington still held the 10-4 lead after five.

The Nittany Lions couldn't stop scoring and added another four runs in the sixth inning highlighted by doubles from Trimble and Himmelreich giving Abington a 14-4 lead.

Cabrini added another four runs, but they couldn't overcome the Nittany Lions lead before the game was called due to darkness in the seventh inning.

Abington will return to action for their home opener when they face off against The College of New Jersey on Saturday at noon.
