Nittany Lions Swing Past Cabrini, 15-8

RADNOR, PA, -  The Penn State Abington bats heated up in a 15-8 romp over Cabrini that was called due to darkness on Tuesday afternoon.  Abington improves to 2-1 after the win.

The Nittany Lions were led by junior Zach Morales going 3-of-5 with two runs scored, and Ryan McCarty earned a double and a homerun that drove in two runs for the junior.

Cabrini answered in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game after a sacrifice fly.

McCarty bounced back after a slow start to the season, when he slammed his pitch over the left field wall to drive in two more runs for the Nittany Lions.  Abington took advantage of the shaking pitching and fielding for the Cavaliers, scoring on an error by the outfielder to make if 4-1.  Still in the third inning with the bases loaded, Bill Trimble drew a walk to notch another run for the Nittany Lions.  Stevenson finished off the scoring for Abington, driving in the final run of the inning putting the Nittany Lions up 6-1 after three innings.  The Nittany Lions didn't let up in the fourth inning with RBI singles from Justin Fogel and Brendon Reese. Senior Paul Woodley added the final run of the 4th to give the Nittany Lions a 9-1 lead.  Senior Jaden Himmelreich capped off the nine consecutive runs for the Nittany Lions with his single to left center field.
