READING, Pa. – The Penn State Abington softball team traveled to NEAC powerhouse Penn State Berks, but couldn't come away with a win getting swept by the hosts on Sunday afternoon. Abington were shut down in game one, 8-1 and fell 10-2 in the night cap. The Nittany Lions fall to 4-8 overall and 4-6 in the conference.
In game one Abington's lone run came in the fourth inning when
Stephanie Andreoli got onto base with a leadoff double to center field.  She was drove in two batters later when
Kourtney Schneider put her pitch out to right field.
Abington took the lead in game two in the first inning. With two runners in scoring position,
Jackie McMenamin put one across the plate with her single to second base and Andreoli added another to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead.
Abington will look to rebound when they host Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
