Nittany Lions Slow the Express in Sweep.

AURORA, NY -  The Penn State baseball team came to New York and showed Wells College why they're one of the top teams in the NEAC with a dominate sweep over the Express on Wednesday afternoon.  Abington improved to 15-2 on the season after a big 20-4 win in game one and another dominate 10-4 win in game two.

The Nittany Lions lit up the Express in game one with nine doubles one triple and one home run.  Abington scored the first seven runs unanswered with an RBI double from Brendon Reese and Ryan McCarty broke open the game with a bases clearing double to give Abington the 7-0 lead. The pain for Wells came in the 5th inning with a massive 12 runs scored.  Stevie Stevenson kicked off the rout with a two run home run. Four out of the next seven batters would smack doubles to give Abington the 16-1 lead.   Wells would tack on three more runs but it was too much for the hosts to overcome.

In game two Abington struck first again with the game's first six runs with doubles from Zach Morales and Jaden Himmelreich. Stevenson and Morales also added RBI singles to help the Nittany Lions.  Wells chipped away at the lead with three runs in the fourth, but Abington responded right away with another two runs knocked in by Stevenson and McCarty. Abington held a 9-4 lead and Thomas Hughes capped it with a RBI double.

Abington will return home on Saturday where they will host Penn State Berks for senior day starting at 12:00 p.m..
