Nittany Lions Bounce Back After 3-0 Win over Wilson

ABINGTON, Pa. – After a tough weekend, the Penn State Abington women's volleyball team rebounded with a 3-0 shutout of Wilson College on Tuesday night. The Nittany Lions improve to 5-5 for the season after the win.

Sophomore Emma de Mey was dominate on the serve with six aces and chipped in seven kills and seven digs for the Nittany Lions. Leading Abington in the attack, Jenny McAnaney racked up nine kills for the senior outside hitter.

Abington dominated the first set winning handily 25-8 thanks to no errors in the attack. The Phoenix struggled and the Nittany Lions took advantage of their eight errors. In the second set the Phoenix rallied and pulled ahead early.  Abington had to fight from behind and eventually tied the set 13-13.  Sophomore outside hitter de Mey pulled the Nittany Lions ahead with a pair of kills and recorded the set point with a perfect service ace. Up 2-0 over Wilson, the Nittany Lions fell behind early again but were able to claw their way back into the set tied 8-8.  The lead changed hands four times before the Nittany Lions went on 4-0 run to extend the lead to 22-17.  Abington finished off the final set 25-18 to pick up their fifth win of the season.

The Nittany Lions will be back in action when they travel to Bryn Mawr College when they face the Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.
