ABINGTON, PA. – At home against Wilson College the Penn State Abington men's soccer team picked up its third win of the season with a 3-0 shutout of the Phoenix on Tuesday afternoon.  Abington improves to 3-3 for the season after the win.
Sophomore
Michael Thomas and freshman
Brian Gibson both tallied their third goal of the season. Freshman
Zuri Stephens opened his collegiate account with a late first half goal.
In the first half the visitors frustrated the Nittany Lions while the pressed for the first goal of the game. Abington struggled in front of net until they broke through late in the first half. Down the left wing Elijo Agollo drove his cross just past the defender where it fell to Thomas and was slotted him in the 42
nd minute. Moments before the break the Nittany Lions doubled their lead when
Matt Haub put in his cross to Stephens who converted his first chance.
Up 2-0 after the break it only took about 10 minutes for the Nittany Lions to get on the board again. A deep lying pass to the wing from
Alec Howser fell to Gibson where he beat the keeper to the far post to give the Nittany Lions the 3-0 advantage.
Abington will be back in action when they travel to Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon with kickoff at 12:00 p.m.
