READING, PA – Penn State Abington senior guard Lacy MacLachlin hit a school-record 10, 3-pointers and finished with 30 points as the Nittany Lions routed host Penn State Berks, 100-33, in a United East Conference match-up.

Abington remained in first place in United East play with a perfect 3-0 league mark (4-7 overall) and a big reason why was MacLachlin. She was on fire behind the arc as her 10 treys came on just 17 attempts and in just 22 minutes of action. The 10, 3-pointers not only broke the school single-game mark (previous was 8 by Brittany Keyes also against Berks in 2017), but it hit the NCAA records book as well. Only 20 players in Division III women's basketball history have hit more 3-pointers in a game than MacLachlin did on Friday night (record is 15).

MacLachlin hit a bomb 12 seconds in and Abington was off and running. After Sam Hagenbush hit a three of her own for Berks (0-10, 0-3) for a 5-3 score, Abington scored 19 straight points for a 21-point advantage. It was 34-7 after the first quarters and it held Berks to just two points in the second for a 57-9 lead at the break.

Abington led 68-24 after three quarters of play and MacLachlin was the show in the fourth as she hit six bombs in the opening six minutes of the quarter.

All eight healthy Abington players saw at least 20 minutes of action and each of them hit the scoring column. In addition to MacLachlin's scoring, Angela Sanders finished with 17 points as well as seven rebounds and five assists. Cassie Tavormina added 14 points and nine assists. Wynter Bess, who set a school record with nine steals in the season-opening win over Rosemont, tied for the second spot on Friday with seven steals to go with 13 points and six assists. The defense recorded 24 steals on 35 Berks turnovers and turned them into 44 points.

Penn State Abington will look to make it four straight when it travels to Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday.
