Box Score MIDDLETOWN, PA – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with a 105-62 road loss to United East Conference foe Penn State Harrisburg.
Abington entered the game with a perfect mark in conference play, but fell to 4-8 and 3-1 while Harrisburg upped its marks to 7-4 and 3-1.
Abington trailed throughout the first quarter, but pulled to within two in the closing seconds. However, Harrisburg opened the second quarter with a 14-0 run and cruised the rest of the way. Harrisburg was deadly from 3-point range, and it hit 18 treys. Abington, which hit 12 3-pointers the night before at Berks, was just 3-for-18 from beyond the arc.
Harrisburg was led by Jayla Galbreath's 17 points and Ciani Redd-Howard's 14 points. Abington was paced by
Cassie Tavormina, who scored 18 points in the loss.
Camille Fleming added 12 points and eight rebounds while
Angela Sanders finished with 10 points and nine boards>
Penn State Abington will host Gallaudet University in a United East contest on Wednesday, January 19.
