How It Happened

* Abington tied the score in the 51st minute thanks to Colon's third goal of the season.  The scoring play was set up with a corner kick attempt by the Nittany Lions.  Freshman Lex Lenoir controlled the loose ball and managed to get it to Colon who finished with the score.

* The Nittany Lions came close to breaking the 1-1 tie later in the second half.  Freshman Arlin Shehu got a shot off on-goal in the 83rd minute but Swarthmore goalkeeper Caleb Ehrenhaft made a key stop.  Sophomore Arsene Bado managed to get a shot off on the rebounded ball but it was redirected and stopped by a Swarthmore defender.

* Junior goalkeeper Matt Sheldon made a huge save for the Nittany Lions in the 88th minute off a shot by Swarthmore's Bless Tumushabe to hold up the 1-1 tie.

* Swarthmore scored the game's first goal in the ninth minute with Antonio Callegari scoring his second goal of the season.

Inside the Box Score

* Colon's goal in the second half marked his third of the season and the second game-tying goal he has scored this season.  He also had the game-tying score in the 1-1 draw with Ursinus College back in September.

* Lenoir's helper on Colon's goal was his first collegiate point and assist.

* Sheldon finished the game with five saves and now has 109 saves in his career; two shy of tying Esteban Leon (2018-19) for third most in program history.

All-Time Series
Today marked the sixth meeting between Abington and Swarthmore since the start of the 2013 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 0-5-1 versus the Garnet in the all-time series.
