Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest to Lancaster Bible College by the score of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field.

How It Happened
 
* Lancaster Bible broke a deadlock score in the 57th minute when Ketty Akselsen scored the game's only goal off a rebounded ball.  Rachel Dickinson's initial shot was stopped by Abington goalkeeper Rachel Wilfrid, but Akselsen was able to control the loose ball and score for her second goal of the season.
 
* Abington totaled seven shots in the second half but only one was on-target.  Sophomore Sarah Gibbons fired a shot right in front right inside the top of the box in the 51st minute but the Chargers' keeper, Erin Mikula, made the save.

* Wilfrid made six saves in net for the Nittany Lions after facing 14 shots by the Chargers; seven in each half.
 
* Sophomore Madison McDowell led Abington with five shots on the day with all but one connecting on-goal.
 
* For Lancaster Bible, Mikula stopped six shots as well after facing 14 by the Nittany Lions.

Today marked the 13th meeting between Abington and Lancaster Bible since the start of the 2011 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 4-7-2 versus the Chargers in the all-time series.

Abington returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 19 as the Nittany Lions host Ursinus College in the team's final non-conference contest of the season.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
