Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest against Penn State Berks by the score of 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Field.

How It Happened
 
* Berks was led by Sara Hathaway who recorded a hat-trick on the afternoon with three goals while also assisting on two others.  Hathaway scored Berks two latter goals in the first half in the 30th and 32nd minutes.  Emily Clapper tallied the team's first score in the 28th minute to break a 0-0 deadlock.
 
* Berks added scores in the 60th minute by Jeyda Duran and Hathaway's third tally in the 79th minute.
 
* Abington spoiled the shutout bid by Berks in the 80th minute when junior Grace Burns connected on her 11th goal of the season tying her career-high.
 
* Adriana Lepera capped the scoring for Berks in the 81st minute with her third goal of the season.

* Burns, with her goal in the 80th minute, now has 50 points in her career moving her into fifth place in the program's record book for career points.  
 
* Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Wilfrid made a season-high 12 saves in net after facing 27 shots by Berks. 
 
* Abington's second half goal marked the team's first goal scored against Berks since the 2016 season. 
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 15th meeting between Abington and Berks since the start of the 2011 season.  Abington is now 1-13-1 versus Berks in the all-time series.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 as the Nittany Lions travel to face St. Mary's College in a United East contest.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.
