Abington Drops Non-Conference Contest at Delaware Valley

Doylestown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest at Delaware Valley University by the score of 84-45 on Monday night at James Work Gymnasium.

How It Happened
 
* Leading 11-8 late in the first quarter, Delaware Valley closed out the quarter on a 10-0 run over the final 3:25 before Abington halted the surge with a basket in the final seconds.  The Aggies led 21-10 after the first 10 minutes.
 
* In the second quarter the Aggies quickly built a 20-point lead with an 11-2 run to start the quarter.  Delaware Valley led 32-12 after Haley Keenan capped the run with a layup basket at the 6:10 mark.  The Aggies would go on to lead by their largest margin in the opening half, 45-22, at halftime.
 
* Delaware Valley maintained its double-digit lead the rest of game extending its lead to as many as 43 points late in the fourth quarter.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Junior Angela Sanders recorded her second double-double of the season as she finished with a team-high 18 points to go along with a game-high 11 boards tying her season-high. She also had two blocks and two steals on defense.
 
* Sophomore Camille Fleming and freshman Sofia Granados each totaled a season-high eight points.  Fleming also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds.
 
* Senior Cassie Tavormina finished with seven points and three rebounds.
 
* For Delaware Valley, Haley Keenan scored a game-high 30 points (11-17 FG) and finished with 10 steals on defense to record a double-double.  Tori Bockrath added 17 points off the bench.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the fifth meeting between Abington and Delaware Valley since the start of the 2017-18 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 2-3 versus the Aggies in the all-time series.

Next Up
Abington returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 27 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Division II Millersville University in a non-conference contest.  Game time is set for 2 p.m.
