Abington Falls to Division II Millersville

Millersville, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest against Division II Millersville University by the score of 92-37 on Sunday afternoon at Pucillo Gymnasium.

How It Happened
 
* Millersville scored the game's first 17 points over a span of 6:54 minutes before allowing a single point by the Nittany Lions.  Abington senior Isabella Vazquez halted the Marauders' run after connecting on a pair of free throws at the 3:06 mark.  Millersville led 20-6 by quarters end.
 
* Abington would come as close as 12 points of the Marauders' lead early in the second quarter when a jumper by Vazquez made the score 25-13 at the 6:56 mark.  Millersville would go on to lead by as many as 22 points (41-19) before taking a 41-22 halftime advantage.
 
* Millersville maintained its double-digit lead the rest of the way after outscoring the Nittany Lions, 30-4, in the third quarter.  The Marauders held Abington to just 15 points in the second half.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Vazquez scored a game-high 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.  She also had four rebounds, one assist and one steal on defense.
 
* Junior Angela Sanders recorded her third straight double-double after scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds tying her season-high.  It marked her 14th career double-double.
 
* Freshman Jade Wilson grabbed eight rebounds to go along with three assists and three points.
 
* For Millersville, Brenna Ortwein led the team with 14 points, while Morgan Mahoney came off the bench and added 11 points.

Today marked the first-ever meeting between Abington and Millersville.
