Abington Falls to Lancaster Bible in United East Action

Lancaster, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team dropped a conference match to Lancaster Bible College by the score of 8-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Hempfield Rec Center.

How It Happened
 
*  At first doubles, Adrian Condes and Philip Belotserkovsky nearly came away with the point, but Lancaster Bible's Devon Clemmer and Josh Jarvis finished with an 8-6 victory.  The Chargers won all three doubles competitions. 
 
* In singles play, Andrew Brown picked up the win and lone point for Abington.  He defeated Micah Weaver in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
 
* At third singles, Belotserkovsky bounced back to force a third set tie-break.  After dropping the first set, 6-4, to Malachi Bomgardner, he bounced back and won the second set, 7-6.  However, Bomgardner came through with a 10-6 victory in the third set tie-break.
 
* Lancaster Bible won five of the six singles competitions.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 12th meeting between Abington and Lancaster Bible since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 7-5 versus the Chargers in that span.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Thursday, April 14 as the Nittany Lions host Albright College in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
