Jenkintown, Pa. – The Penn State Abington baseball team rallied from a 9-3 deficit to defeat Moravian University by the score of 17-14 in a non-conference contest on Wednesday afternoon at Alverthorpe Park. Sophomore
Tim Petrucelli hit a game-winning three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 14-14 tie.

How It Happened
* Petrucelli delivered the blast to send Abington to a 17-14 come-from-behind victory in the bottom of the eighth.
Andrew Lastowka led the inning off with a single. After two quick outs,
Justin Fogel reached base after getting hit by a pitch.
Ryan McCarty followed with a single to left field to drive in Lastowka from second to tie the game at 14-14 before Petrucelli's three-run homer.
* The four-run eighth inning was set up after a four-run seventh inning by the Nittany Lions. Trailing 13-9, Abington connected on back-to-back home runs to make it a one run game.
Chase Swain hit a two-run homer to left-center field and was followed by a solo home run by Fogel. Later in the inning
Zach Morales tied the game at 13-13 with a run scoring double.
* Moravian's Matt Madigan gave the Greyhounds a 14-13 lead with a run scoring double in the top of the eighth.
* Moravian led 9-3 after an eight-run third inning. David Olsakowski and Madigan each drove in a pair of runs in the inning.
Inside the Box Score
* Morales drove in a game-high four runs after going 3-for-5 at the plate. He had a two-run double in the first to go along with his game tying hit in the seventh.
* Fogel,
Jaden Himmelreich, McCarty and Swain all had three hits in the game. Fogel finished 3-for-5 with three runs and two, including his second home run of the season. Himmelreich went 4-for-3 tying his season-high in hits. He also scored twice. McCarty went 3-for-6 with a game-high four runs and three RBI, while Swain finished 3-for-6 with two runs and three RBI. Swain's seventh inning home run marked his seventh this season.
* McCarty (4-2) was the pitcher of record for Abington. He pitched the final two innings in relief allowing just one run while striking out four batters.
* For Moravian, Madigan went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI. Chris Pow also had three hits as he finished the game 3-for-5 with a run and two RBI.

Today marked the first-ever meeting between Abington and Moravian in the team's Division III era.

Abington returns to action on Saturday, April 23 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Wells College in United East Conference action. Game time is set for 5 p.m. The two teams will then play a doubleheader on Sunday, April 24 with game one starting at 11 a.m.
