How It Happened

* A two-run single by senior Zach Morales with two outs in the first inning gave Abington an early 2-0 lead.

* Abington gave starting pitcher, Greg Wiley (4-0), all the support he would need with a five-run third inning.  With the bases loaded, Morales was hit by a pitch to force in the first run of the inning.  Junior Sean Doherty followed with a run scoring single before freshman Anthony Bencardino drew a walk to record an RBI.  Sophomore Andrew Lastowka hit a sacrifice fly to score Morales to make the score 6-0.  A double steal by Abington led to Doherty scoring the fifth and final run of the inning with a steal home plate.

* In the fourth, freshman Chase Swain led the inning off with a solo home run; his eighth of the season.

* Wells finally got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with an unearned run to make the score 8-1.

* Abington added another run in the sixth when Morales drew a bases loaded walk.  The Nittany Lions added three more runs in the seventh with senior Ryan McCarty connecting on a two-run home run for his 21st home run of the season.

* The Abington offense remained hot into the eighth inning.  Morales led the inning off with a solo home run to make the score 13-2.  It marked his eighth home run of the season. Later in the inning, Swain drove in a run before a two-run double by sophomore Justin Fogel capped the scoring for the Nittany Lions.

* Wells added two runs in the bottom of the eighth with John Valinoti recording a run scoring single.
