Abington Falls to Saint Mary’s in United East Finale

St. Mary's City, Md. – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team dropped its final United East Conference (UEC) contest of the season with a 9-0 setback at St. Mary's College on Saturday afternoon at the Somerset Tennis Complex.

How It Happened
 
* St. Mary's opened the match by winning both first and second doubles by identical 8-0 scores.  The Seahawks also received the point at third doubles by default to lead 3-0 entering singles play.
 
* At first singles, senior Michelle Ly stood strong with the Seahawks' Diana Levit in the first set.  Levit took the opening set, 6-3, and went on to win set two by the score of 6-1.
 
* St. Mary's also won sets two through five and received the point for sixth flight by default.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the first-ever meeting between Abington and St. Mary's. 
 
Next Up
Abington will wrap up the season on Thursday, April 28 as the Nittany Lions host Rosemont College in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Abington Tennis Courts.
