How It Happened

* Junior Josh Baar came through with the knockout blow in the top half of the ninth inning.  With two runners on base and two outs in the inning, Baar came to the plate in a pinch-hit opportunity and launched a three-run homer over the left field fence to give Abington a 9-5 lead.

* Penn State Harrisburg managed to score a run in the bottom of the inning but senior Ryan McCarty, who came in to pitch in the bottom of the eight, struck out the final batter to earn his fourth save of the season.

* Senior Jaden Himmelreich (7-2) held the Harrisburg offense to just four runs in seven-plus innings of work.  After allowing two runs in the first inning, Himmelreich held Harrisburg scoreless until the eighth.

* The score remained 4-2 in favor of Abington until the top half of the fifth when McCarty led the inning off with a solo home run.  Abington added another run in the sixth off a Justin Fogel RBI base hit to make the score 6-2.

* Harrisburg started the eighth inning with back-to-back doubles by Matt Parks and Kevin Lehner.  The home team went on to score three times in the inning to cut the lead down to 6-5.
