How It Happened

* The Mighty Macs struck first in a back-and-forth affair when Hannah Phillips scored within the first five minutes of the game for the early 1-0 lead.  The advantage didn't last long as Abington responded with a score by sophomore Sarah Gibbons who found an opening in the lower left of the net to tie the game at 1-1 in the 11th minute.

* Twenty-Five seconds after Abington tied the game, the home team responded with a goal by Savanna Crowding to make it a 2-1 game.  In the 16th minute Abington once against tied the game thanks to a goal by junior Grace Burns to make the score 2-2.

* The score remained tied at 2-2 through the rest of the first half and early into the second half.  It was the Mighty Macs that once again broke the tie scoring in the 61st minute with a goal by Therese Weis.  However, the Nittany Lions stayed resilient and tacked on the game-tying goal for the third time.  Burns converted a penalty kick attempt for her second goal of the game tying the score at 3-3.

* With just over six minutes remaining in the game, Immaculata broke the tie for the final time.  Weis connected on her second goal of the game to give the Mighty Macs a 4-3 lead and eventual victory.
