Abington Drops Non-Conference Match to Bryn Mawr, 7-2

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to Bryn Mawr College by the score of 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the Abington Tennis Courts on campus.

How It Happened
 
* The duo of juniors Tinatin Sadzaglishvili and Elizabeth Turner came up with the victory at first doubles defeating Kelly Cole and Gioanna Zhao, 8-6.  Sadzaglishvili and Turner broke a 6-6 tie with a key deuce point on Bryn Mawr's serve.  Turner held her serve to secure the first doubles win.
 
* Bryn Mawr earned the points in second and third doubles winning by the scores of 8-0 and 8-1 respectively.
 
* In singles action, Sadzaglishvili won in straight sets to pick up her first victory of the season at second flight.  After taking the first set, 6-4, against Jill Hohmann, Sadzaglishvili cruised to a 6-1 triumph in the second set.
 
* The Owls took the points in the remaining singles matches to finish the match with a 7-2 victory.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the first-ever meeting between Penn State Abington and Bryn Mawr.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 as the Nittany Lions hit the road to face Cairn University in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 12 p.m.
