Abington Shutouts Bryn Athyn, 2-0

Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season after shutting down Bryn Athyn College, 2-0, in the third annual Jaden Truskey Cup on Tuesday night at General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

How It Happened
 
* Abington was able to play with the lead majority of the game thanks to an early goal by sophomore Arsene Bado.  In the eighth minute, Bado tallied his second goal of the season with the game's first shot to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 advantage.
 
* The Nittany Lions doubled their lead late in the second half when junior Mike Thomas scored his first goal of the season to make the score 2-0 in the 76th minute. 
 
* Junior goalkeeper Matt Sheldon recorded his first shutout of the season and the fourth of his career.

* Abington outshot Bryn Athyn by a 16-12 margin, including nine shots in the first half. 
 
* The Nittany Lions held a huge advantage on corner kick opportunities as the team totaled a season-high 14 in the game with 10 coming in the second half.
