How It Happened

* A three-pointer by Penn College's Lexi Troup at the 7:21 mark of the first quarter gave the Wildcats a 7-6 lead.  From there, Penn College never relinquished the lead and took an 18-13 lead into quarter number two.

* The Wildcats increased their lead to as many as 12 points twice in the second quarter with the latter coming in the final seconds when Kayleigh Miller split a pair of free throws with less than a second left on the clock.  Penn College led 37-25 at halftime.

* In the third quarter, Abington made it a 10-point game midway through the quarter when junior Angela Sanders drained a three-pointer to make the score 45-35. However, the Wildcats followed with a 12-0 run to close out the quarter to lead 57-35 heading into the final frame.

* The Wildcats led by as many as 24 points early in the fourth quarter at 59-35.  Abington used a 16-5 run over a seven-minute span to cut the deficit down to 13 points at 64-51.  Junior Kankoun Sylla capped the run with a layup basket with 2:46 left in regulation.  That would be as close as the Nittany Lions would get with limited time remaining in the game.
