Abington Drops Conference Road Contest Against Morrisville

Morrisville, N.Y. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team fell to Morrisville State College by the score of 75-51 in United East Conference (UEC) action on Friday evening at the Morrisville Student Activities Center.

How It Happened
 
* A 9-2 run to start the game fueled Morrisville to a double-digit lead by the end of the opening quarter. The Mustangs limited the Abington offense to just nine points over the first 10 minutes of play resulting in a 22-9 advantage.
 
* Morrisville kept its double-digit lead intact the rest of the half and led by as many as 21 points (36-15) at the 4:15 mark of the second quarter.  The Mustangs led 39-20 at halftime and would go on to outscore the Nittany Lions, 36-31, in the second half.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Sophomore Safara McIntyre registered a career-high 16 points to lead the Abington offense.  She also grabbed eight rebounds; one shy of her season-high.
 
* Junior Camille Fleming recorded double-digit rebounds for the first time this season as she led the team with 13 boards to go along with seven points.
 
* Junior Angela Sanders finished in double-figures with 10 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists and a team-high four steals on defense. 
 
* For Morrisville, Rachel Vierira led all scorers with 26 points (10-18 FG) while connecting on six three-pointers in the game.  Cara Walker added 11 points and nine rebounds.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 14th meeting between Abington and Morrisville since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 4-10 all-time versus the Mustangs in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington will look to bounce back tomorrow as the Nittany Lions continue their New York road trip with a United East match up at Wells College.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
