How It Happened

* Abington led and held the advantage the second senior Alex Salata III scored the game's first basket and never looked back.  The Nittany Lions led the entire way and without a single tie in the game.

* With the score 17-16 in favor of the Nittany Lions, the team went on a mini 8-2 run to lead 25-18 with three minutes to play until the half.  Senior Brian Randolph III capped the run with a three-pointer which also marked the final score of the first half by either team.

* Morrisville would come within four points of the lead at the 12:14 mark of the second half after two free throws by Brandon Kulakowski made the score 38-34.  Abington followed with an 11-3 run over the next four minutes to grab its first double-digit lead of the game.  A layup score by senior Alex Podolski gave the Nittany Lions a 49-36 cushion.

* Down the stretch, the Nittany Lions increased their lead to as many as 14 points when Salata converted a pair of free throws to make the score 60-46 with 2:33 to play.

* The Mustangs came within nine points of the lead in the final minute but free throws by the Nittany Lions and time doomed the home team as Abington earned the victory.
