Abington Falls to Berks in United East Play

Reading, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a United East Conference (UEC) contest at Penn State Berks by the score of 4-0 on Wednesday night at the Berks Turf Field.

How It Happened
 
* Berks scored back-to-back goals in the 18th and 19th minutes to take a 2-0 first half lead.  Adriana Lepera connected on her third goal of the season for the game's first goal.  Just over a minute later Diana Pon scored the first of her three goals on the night to double the lead at 2-0.
 
* Pon completed the hat-trick with two second half goals as she scored in the 52nd and 65th minutes.
 
Inside the Numbers
 
* Sophomore Rachel Wilfrid started in net for Abington and made six saves in the first half.  Freshman Abby Brunnell took the second half and totaled five saves.
 
* Junior Madison McDowell recorded all three shots for Abington, including one on-goal.
 
Postseason Picture
Abington officially clinched a postseason spot with Gallaudet University's loss to St. Mary's College (Md.) on Tuesday.  The Nittany Lions will be returning to the postseason for the first time since 2017.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 16th meeting between Abington and Berks since the start of the 2011 season.  Abington is now 1-14-1 versus Berks in the all-time series.
