How It Happened

* After dropping the first set by the score of 25-11, Abington bounced back and took a thrilling second set, 29-27, to tie the match.  It was a back-and-forth set that saw each team take the lead multiple times.  Abington faced set-point after Berks scored three straight points to break a 21-21 tie.  However, three straight miscues by Berks capped off with a service ace from sophomore Brianna Brozo gave Abington a 25-24 lead.  Both teams would exchange points and Berks once again held set-point, this time at 27-26.  Freshman Jayla Hickey answered the call and supplied Abington with three straight kills for the 29-27 set victory.

* The third set featured most of the same as both teams battled back and forth with Abington coming up with another clutch run.  Trailing 24-21, Abington scored five straight points fueled by three errors by Berks.  Hickey registered a kill in the final run, while sophomore Laine Kulpinski recorded an ace to break a 24-24 tie.

* Abington used a 6-0 run to overtake Berks for the final time in the fourth set.  Trailing 18-17, Abington's six unanswered points gave the home team a 23-18 advantage.  Freshman Ela Candir capped the run with back-to-back aces.  Berks put up a fight by scoring four straight points, including three players recording kills to make the score 23-22.  Abington would benefit from back-to-back errors by Berks to win the set, 25-22 and take the match.
